14th Dronacharya Ramakant Achrekar Cricket Tournament

Dronacharya Ramakant Achrekar Cricket Tournament (D.R.A.C.T), the brain child of Mr. Chandrakant Pandit was inaugurated in the year 2000. The tournament since then has been organised every year by Chandrakant Pandit Cricket Clinic (CPCC) and conducted by Mother Sports Social Foundation. D.R.A.C.T is approved by the Mumbai Cricket Association as Under-14 Selection tournament in the year.

A disciple of Late Shri Ramakant Achrekar, Pandit launched the tournament with an aim to encourage and motivate the Under-13 & 14 age group, an age group Shri Ramakant Achrekar believed in nurturing the most for the future of Indian cricket. A belief that translated in reality more than once during Shri Achrekar's coaching tenure, with plenty of his students representing the country and state level. Most shining examples we all know of are Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli.

The best guru dakshina that can be offered to any Guru is a life lived in accordance with the Guru's teachings. Having abided by this it was only apt for Pandit to name the tournament after his Guru. Hence the name Dronacharya Ramakant Achrekar Cricket Tournament.

The tournament that initially started only for Under 13, later graduated to Under 14, so ensure that it serves as a platform for the players to prepare for both inter school matches and the state level matches.

Rohit Sharma, Sarfaraz Khan, Harmeet Singh and Arman Jaffer the finds of this tournament are now playing higher class of cricket at various levels.

The 14thseason of the D.R.A.C.T began on October 27th at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana, where 8 teams will be battling each other for the coveted winner’s trophy this year.
